I know every single Malaysian out there is pumped up right now due to the recent fuel price hike to RM2.70.
Bear in mind that later it will hit RM4 or more. Next to go is the utilities and food prices. Things are just going to get from bad to worse. There is seriously nothing we can do about it now so let us adapt to the change. Hard times call for hard decisions.
If there is a time to stop smoking NOW is the time.
If there is a time to stop drinking NOW is the time.
STOP having you daily gourmet coffee.
STOP using so much air conditioning at home.
STOP using your water heater.
Cut back on your expenses which you can easily do without. This way you can channel the savings for your fuel expenses and if you are lucky you might still get to keep that car of yours.
Plan your journey ahead and car pool if you can. Many say, "I can't car pool, I have to stay back late at work." but if you don't make an effort to do so, you never will. Take public transportation if you can help it. Fly less. Use emails and phones more. Make full use of that RM2000 3G phone you paid so much for. You'll be surprised by how much you can save by these measures. Using less fuel would be kinder to the environment as well.
What we can really do now is spread the word on lifting the excise tax on Malaysian vehicles as this would be a 'double subsidy' which the rakyat is paying to the government. In the long run when petrol price are left at floating value, the rakyat will be at the losing end.
You have the permission to forward my post to your friends colleagues etc. Get the word out. This is the next hot thing in Malaysia. If the government is listening, or at least those who are really doing their job is listening something will be done. Do your part and spread the word.
Say NO to excise tax on Malaysian vehicles!
Jeng Jeng Jeng !!!
