Johnny's runs like clockwork!

My girlfriend and I were hanging around in Queensbay Mall till late last Saturday and dinner time was approaching fast.

Every restaurant we approached was jam packed with people and the queue was endless. We didn't want to walk around anymore and decided to just settle with Johnny's Steamboat as the queue was shortest there.

We were greeted by the staff and immediately our order was taken. Less than a minute later were were already seated at a clean table with all the necessary tableware ready.
5 minutes later our steamboat dishes arrived and a few more minutes later the two plates of fried rice we ordered arrived as well!

That's QUICK. REALLY QUICK.

And that was whats surprising. As we were eating, I managed to observe how the staff at Johnny's worked. They consisted mainly of foreign workers, Nepalese if I was not wrong... or they could be Pakistani(Yes, Johnny's is HALAL). There was only one Chinese worker there.

The staff were polite, smiling ALL the time. Even when asking each other to make way they used the words "Excuse me PLEASE". In ENGLISH. When patrons were done they asked for permission to clear the tables and they even ask if you like the food!

And they were FAST. REALLY FAST.

You can almost see everyone moving as quick as lightning. No one was was loitering around. No one was taking their own sweet time clearing the table. Everything was running like CLOCKWORK.

VERY IMPRESSIVE.

I guess that was why the queue at the front was so short. Each table was served as efficient as possible. How in the world did they get so motivated work like that? I wonder if the trick was to hire a foreigner as the manager. This kind of service really puts the other 'tenkiubye' restaurants to shame. I was really amused by the top notch service provided by Johnny's. I will visit them again.

If things in our country was run like this all the time, I bet Malaysia wouldn't only take half the time to reach where we are today. Its really a shame to see foreign workers best the locals.

Down For Unscheduled Maintenance

Last Friday, feeling kinda bored I joined my colleagues at their weekly badminton outing and this is what happened.






















Yes, I sprained my ankle again and this is the...4th time? Twice while playing badminton, once by squash and another just by missing a step on a flight of stairs.

The incident happened as quick as a flash. I was retrieving a drop from Mac-daddy and before I knew it I heard the sound kriiaakk - TWICE! Later I found out that I had sprained my ankle on both sides apparently.

I literally threw out my plans out the window for the next few months. No more riding, no more jogging. Ironically I had sent out a ride announcement for a ride on the 18th! I had to ffk my ride buddies...sorry dudes! Worst of all I was going to miss the BM Mountain Cross 2008 AND the first Penang Bridge Marathon organized by the new Penang government!
